PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard will enable learner to function as a health worker alone or as part of the multi-disciplined health care team with all relevant groups in the community to prevent illness, promote health and development, maintain health and promote rehabilitation.
Relevant groups include, but are not limited to, nursing mothers, pregnant women, pre-school children, caregivers, the elderly. Learners credited with this unit standard will be able to: The learners will function within, institutional policies related to specific occupational settings, as well as the parameters of the capabilities of the learner at this level. Enrolled auxiliary nurse learners will also function within the scope of practice of the enrolled auxiliary nurse as formulated by the South African Nursing Council Regulations. |
