PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The qualifying learner is capable of:
Identifying the situation that requires protection and affording appropriate on-track protection in order to contribute to safety of people, trains and machinery and for safe movement on rail. The learner will also be able to discontinue protection in accordance with company procedures and will be able to collect, transport, use and secure protection equipment in accordance with safety standards and relevant procedures. This Unit Standard will contribute to the full development of a professional community of Rail Construction and Maintenance workers. The skills, knowledge and understanding demonstrated within this Unit Standard are essential for social and economic transformation and upliftment within the Rail Construction and Maintenance environment. |
