PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The qualifying learner is capable of:
Understanding the purpose and application of road rail vehicles and hydraulic equipment in rail track operations, as well as executing the on/off-tracking of the road rail vehicle.The learner will also be able to operate the road rail vehicle on track and to utilise the equipment on the vehicle. Furthermore the learner will be capable of ensuring that the road rail vehicle is utilised in an effective manner, by the team and in accordance with all relevant regulatory requirements and organisational specifications and procedures. This unit standard will contribute to the full development of a professional community of Rail Construction and Maintenance workers. The skills, knowledge and understanding demonstrated within this Unit Standard are essential for social and economic transformation and upliftment within the Rail Construction and Maintenance environment. |
