PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
The qualifying learner is capable of:
Destressing continuous welded rails conventionally, as well as by using a rail tensioner. The learner will also be able to destress jointed rails, identify the cause of and repair creep in the track and determine stress free temperatures in the rail. This Unit Standard will contribute to the full development of a professional community of Rail Construction and Maintenance workers.The skills, knowledge and understanding demonstrated within this Unit Standard are essential for social and economic transformation and upliftment within the Rail Construction and Maintenance environment. |
