PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The learner credited with this unit standard will be able to sag and tension overhead conductors on OHTE safely and efficiently according to company specific procedures and instructions under isolated and earthed conditions thus contributing to the safe running of electric trains to prevent pantograph and overhead track equipment damage and train delays in the rail sector.

Successful learners may be certified by the rail authorities as competent to sag and tension overhead conductors on OHTE under isolated and earthed conditions.
