PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard is for learners and practitioners interested in solving problems related to crime and victimisation. Knowledge of appropriate techniques to identify specific crime and victimisation risk, can contribute to solving these problems and ultimately to the improvement of safety and society.
This unit standard is designed to acquire knowledge regarding problem identification as a first step in solving problems relating to crime and victimisation, including: Learners become aware of the importance of reflecting and exploring a range of strategies to identify problems in the field of crime and victimisation. They learn to participate as responsible citizens in the life of local, national and global communities, by identifying specific crime and victimisation problems. They learn the importance of being culturally sensitive across a range of social contexts in relating to all participants when identifying problems relating to crime and victimisation. The attaining of these outcomes will also contribute to the development of learners' entrepreneurial skills within the field. |
