PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
Learners who are involved in preparing production equipment within a continuous steel tube and pipe production process require the skills, values and knowledge reflected in this unit standard.
Qualifying learners can prepare and ready the equipment for producing steel tube and pipe and reflect on the equipment preparation process. They will understand the importance of effective process set up and how this is achieved. This will include setting up production equipment, setting operational parameters, testing operational functioning, identifying non-conformances and taking corrective action. The learning outcomes in this unit standard also contribute to the exit level outcomes required for the National Certificate in Steel Tube and Pipe Manufacturing (Seamless Hot-Finished, Welded or Cold-Formed) (NQF level 3) and related qualifications. |
LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING |
It is assumed that learners are competent in:

PROVIDERS CURRENTLY ACCREDITED TO OFFER THIS UNIT STANDARD: |
This information shows the current accreditations (i.e. those not past their accreditation end dates), and is the most complete record available to SAQA as of today. Some Primary or Delegated Quality Assurance Functionaries have a lag in their recording systems for provider accreditation, in turn leading to a lag in notifying SAQA of all the providers that they have accredited to offer qualifications and unit standards, as well as any extensions to accreditation end dates. The relevant Primary or Delegated Quality Assurance Functionary should be notified if a record appears to be missing from here. |
