PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard will provide persons with knowledge on the evolution of war and warfare since Antiquity with the main focus in strategic-, operational art and tactics during the 19th and 20th Century.

The transformation of land warfare from the Roman system till the 15th Century is described to indicate the decline of the importance of infantry on the battlefield and the gaining importance of cavalry. |
