PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit standard is intended for people who serve as mediators of conflicts.
A learner credited with this standard will be capable of: |
LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING |
Learners starting to learn towards this unit standard are proficient in Language, Literacy and Communication, particularly intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, at NQF level 4 or equivalent.
It is also recommended that learners are proficient in the unit standard 'Conduct an in-depth analysis and interpret conflict situations' before accessing this unit standard. |
UNIT STANDARD RANGE |
To include conflict mapping, conflict analysis, shuttle diplomacy, co-mediation, emotion-handling skills and creative thinking.
Advanced situations refer to complex multiparty conflicts, deep-rooted value conflicts, and escalated conflicts involving violence. |
