PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The person credited with this unit standard is able to identify and prepare machinery for the production process.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Identifying and preparing machine requirements.
  • Setting machines and equipment. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
  • Learners accessing this qualification will have demonstrated competence in numeracy and literacy equivalent to NQF level 3.
  • They will also have achieved, or be able to demonstrate equivalent competence to, the National Certificate in Furniture Wood Machining at NQF level 3.
