PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This unit is for people who extract and transport timber using a tractor and trailer in a production situation. People credited with this unit standard are able to:

UNIT STANDARD RANGE |
Competence can be demonstrated on any tractor and trailer combination. Trailers include self-loading bundle trailers or independently loaded trailers. Competence needs to be demonstrated using only one of the trailers. Demonstration of competence will take place "on-the-job" in a production situation. |

Forward, reverse, left, right, stop, start, gear selection, engine revolutions, braking, speed, travelling empty and loaded. All of the competencies to be performed infield must be demonstrated on flat terrain, gradient and side slope. All of the competencies to be performed on forest roads must be demonstrated on flat terrain and on gradient. |
