    3-wheeled loaders, self-propelled knuckle boom loaders, truck and trailer mounted knuckle boom loaders, front-end loaders.

    Mechanical timber handling equipment is explained in terms of where and in what applications they can be used.

    Features of functional sorting, stacking, loading and off-loading areas are explained in terms of machine manoeuvrability, stack placement, transport access, stack configurations, work area in relation to other operations, safety and the need to keep the area clear of debris.

    Effects of under production in sorting, stacking, loading and off-loading of timber are described.
