PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD

The qualifying learner is capable of: Integrating construction management principles by integrating the pre-tender phase, preparing for construction activities, analysing and reviewing the implementation of construction activities and reviewing the contract/s closeout and presenting findings. This unit standard will contribute to the full development of a professional community of Construction Managers The skills, knowledge and understanding demonstrated within this unit standard are essential for social and economic transformation and upliftment within the construction environment.

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

The following knowledge, skills attitude and / or equivalent: Mathematical Science NQF Level 4 or Grade 12 Higher Grade NQF 3 in English Literacy. Physical Science NQF Level 4 or Grade 12 Higher Grade Proficiency in the following competencies at NQF Level 5: Establishing, implementing and controlling procurement process The management of productivity on a construction project The management of Health & Safety on a construction project Managing construction projects Understanding of at least two Construction Technology domains at NQF level 6
