    UNIT STANDARD NOTES
    Supplementary information.

    1. These notes are intended for bringing the legal requirements of SANS 10147 (SABS 0147) relating to refrigeration plants, including refrigeration plants associated with air conditioning systems, to the attention of persons working on these plants.
    2. It is not the intention for the mechanic to be able to check the design of the plants; however, through experience the mechanic should be able to pinpoint blatant errors.
    3. The accreditation based on this assessment does not, in any way, replace the legal requirements for persons who are in charge of refrigeration or air conditioning plants.
    4. These notes are intended for persons working with group 1 refrigerants only. Specific knowledge of group 2 and group 3 refrigerants and the associated plants is required before a person is competent to work on plants containing group 2 or group 3 refrigerants.
