PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
A learner who has achieved this unit standard will be competent in:

Controlling of pests and weeds without supervision to ensure pest and weed free tea fields and nursery to minimize competition and infestation of tea fields.

UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
The scope of this unit standard deals with the pest and weed control in tea fields and nursery according to correct application rate on identification of pests and predetermined program for weeds in order to eradicate competition and infestations in tea fields and nursery.

The specific outcomes as reflected in this unit standard are performed without direct supervision, but with access to standard working procedures and operating instructions.

Prepare for chemical application and weeding.
