PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD

The qualifying learner is capable of: Managing multiple construction projects on more than one construction site, incorporating different construction disciplines A person credited with this unit standard will be able to interpret project documentation with reference to quantities, understand the principles of measuring building and civil works and measure construction projects in order to prepare interim certificates and final account. This unit standard will contribute to the full development of a professional community of Construction Managers. The skills, knowledge and understanding demonstrated within this unit standard are essential for social and economic transformation and upliftment within the construction environment.

Anyone assessing a learner or moderating the assessment of a learner against this unit standard must be registered as an assessor with the relevant ETQA for The Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, NQF Level 6. Any institution offering learning that will enable the achievement of this unit standard must be accredited as a provider with the relevant ETQA. The relevant ETQA or other ETQA's, who have a Memorandum of Understanding in place with relevant ETQA, would be responsible for moderation of learner achievements of learners who meet the requirements of this qualification.
