PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD |
This is an elective unit standard at Level 6, which can be credited to the Advanced Certificate in Education (School Management and Leadership) at Level 6.
The unit standard is suitable for those responsible for subject/learning area/phase leadership in schools. This unit standard will be studied with the unit standard 'Manage teaching and learning', to provide additional credits for subject/learning area/phase specific engagement. However, it will be understood that programmes for subject/learning area/phase leaders (Heads of Department) in a school will apply the outcomes of the core unit standards in the ACE (School Management and Leadership) specifically to subject leadership. Qualifying learners will be able to lead and manage the planning, implementation and monitoring/evaluation of teaching and learning to ensure quality learning for all in the particular subject/learning area/phase. |
