  • Operate a computer.
  • Understand graphic design principles.
  • Understand project planning principles.

  • UNIT STANDARD RANGE
The term multimedia/web-based computer application refers to an interactive end-user computer application that includes digitised sound, graphics, photographs, animation, text, and video.

    Specific Outcomes and Assessment Criteria:

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1
Review requirements for digitised still images for a multimedia/web-based computer application.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
The plan identifies the purpose, the outcome and the style of the multimedia/web-based computer application.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
The review identifies and explains the feasibility of the requirements.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
The review identifies user objectives and critical performance factors.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4
The review estimates the development effort required so that the cost may be estimated.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 5
A review procedure is adopted that ensures the outcomes meet user requirements.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 6
The plan for the creation of digitised still images for a multimedia/web-based computer application is outlined and monitored according to project planning principles and financial requirements.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 2
Digitise still images for a multimedia/web-based computer application.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
The selected source material meets the specified requirements.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
The digitised still images meet the technical quality standards required for the multimedia/web-based application.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
The digitised still image data is free of digitising system errors.

    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 3
Manipulate digitised still images for a multimedia/web-based computer application.
    OUTCOME RANGE
Manipulate means: resize all or parts of image, crop or extend, distort, re-colour, correct faults, etc.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 1
The manipulated still images meet the specified requirements.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2
The manipulated still images are consistent with the themes and style of the application.

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3
The digitised still image is stored in an accessible and secure manner, and in the data format required by the multi-media application.
