Different meanings of the words depression and depressed are explored and an indication is given of when an individual is depressed and when an individual is suffering from depression. |

Possible reasons why an individual may become anxious or depressed or may suffer from anxiety or depression are identified with reference to environmental, socio-economic, interpersonal and intrapersonal factors. |
