PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
This unit standard has as its core purpose, qualifying learners who will demonstrate an understanding of the key domestic policies of South Africa. They will demonstrate a clear understanding of how these policies influence international diplomatic relations in a mission.

The qualifying learner will be able to:
  • Evaluate the South African government's current standing regionally and internationally.
  • Analyse the historical significance of the achievement of democracy in South Africa.
  • Analyse the Government policy on key domestic issues.
  • Analyse the impact of Government policy on domestic issues.

    Issues pertaining to Human Rights, moral regeneration, violence against women and children are evaluated in terms of government, NGO and other programmes to address the issues.
