PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
The purpose of this unit standard is to enable learners to:
  • Operate DJ equipment for a performance.
  • Arrange and present pre -recorded music for performance and / or broadcasting.

    The unit standard contributes to the competence of those learners who want to pursue a career in Sound Engineering, and contribute to greater levels of competence, and thus productivity and quality in the Music Industry.

    Basic audio fundamentals are selected which are applicable to the dj`ng project.

    Basic trouble -shooting activities are performed when required, and according to manufacturers` specifications, or set procedures.

    Necessary repairs are performed, or facilitated, on equipment / media / tools, according to manufacturers` specifications, or set procedures.
