PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Learners who achieve this standard will know that there are different tenure options. An understanding of the implications of the different options will help them select the one most appropriate to their needs and contexts.

In order to apply this unit standard, it is assumed that learners are able to read and write to a level appropriate for NQF Level 1.

    UNIT STANDARD ASSESSOR CRITERIA 
  • Given that this standard is at NQF Level 1 and could form part of a learner`s General Education and Training Certificate, some assessment evidence must be in a form related to competence in reading, writing and communication at this level.
  • Assessment evidence should be gathered in the real-life application of the outcomes in the housing process where possible (eg. Supporting evidence for choice of option). If this is not feasible in terms of the learner`s own involvement, or his/her availability to the assessor over time, simulations, role plays, interviews, portfolios and tests can be used.
  • Translation and interpreting services should be used if these are needed.
