A learner who has achieved this unit standard will be competent in:
Cutting threshed stem to prescribed quality standards to ensure availability for add-back to cut lamina

To enter a learning programme for this unit standard or to be assessed against this unit standard, the learner is assumed to have:
  • Literacy and numeracy at NQF level 2

    UNIT STANDARD RANGE 
    The learner is expected to perform the specific outcomes as reflected in this unit standard with minimal supervision, but with access to work site procedures and operating instructions
    Equipment includes, but is not limited to, cutting knives, grinding stones, metal detector, stem flattener, conditioning units, stem separator, dosing and weighing belts, and feeders
    The scope of this unit standard deals with the cutting of threshed stem after silo bulking and before lamina cutting
