    SPECIFIC OUTCOME 1 
    Identify the nature of the waste to be transported. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

    1. The consignee is communicated with regarding the content of the load. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    2. The repercussions of the specific load to be transported are identified.

    3. Appropriate pre trip actions are taken.

    Plan the trip.

    1. The most appropriate route from origin to destination is identified. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    2. The most appropriate vehicle depending on the nature of the waste to be transported is selected.

    3. All precautionary measures regarding safety and legislative parameters are identified and applied. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    4. Arrangements with place of destination are made, regarding arrival, off loading, precautionary measures and the on site management of the waste substance are made.

    Monitor the trip.

    1. The driver is informed regarding content of the load as well as specific actions required by him/her. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 2 
    2. The route plan and precautionary measures by the driver and crew members are explained. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 3 
    3. Incident management plan of action by the driver and crew is explained. 

    ASSESSMENT CRITERION 4 
    4. Be available and prepared if/when the driver requires assistance en route.

    1. Reports regarding incidents are received and appropriate action as prescribed by legislation and standard operating procedures of the undertaking is taken.

    2. Incident and accident investigation is conducted immediately.

    3. Measures of damage control on behalf of the undertaking are suggested.

    4. Causes of the incident / accident are evaluated.
