PURPOSE OF THE UNIT STANDARD 
Learners acquiring this standard will be learning towards obtaining a national qualification or are working within a road freight transport management environment, where acquisition of competence against this standard will add value to learner`s job, or chances of finding employment.

The qualifying learner is capable of:
  • Differentiating and understanding between public and private transport.
  • Applying road freight industry knowledge and company prescriptive procedures in day-to-day operational activities.
  • Monitoring administrative and operational activities.
  • Ensuring that the freight gets transported as per request / order / instruction.
  • Completing transportation task in the prescribed manner.
