PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
This qualification is intended for managers in the transportation industry. Persons who successfully obtain this qualification will be competent to formulate and implement a logistics business plan for the supply chain, as well as developing export plans in a consumer orientated and profit driven firm. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
The successful completion of the First-degree in Transport Management, or the successful completion of an equivalent qualification with Logistical, Risk, Marketing skills, as well as specialist knowledge and comprehension of International Business and Transportation at NQF 6.

    While South Africa still had Technikons, all of their qualifications were registered under the Committee of Technikon Principals. After the Technikons became Universities of Technology or merged with Universities, the qualifications were registered under each of these institutions, and the CTP qualifications fell away (hence the end date of 2006, above).
