| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| Purpose:
The aim of this qualification is to develop marketing researchers who are able to apply research methods and conduct independent research in order to provide solutions to contemporary marketing problems and generate new knowledge. Qualified learners should be able to demonstrate integrated knowledge on research methodologies and implement evidence based strategies to exploit market opportunities and solve marketing problems. Rationale: The qualified learner will be competent in conducting research to such an extent that a substantial contribution is made towards the development of the field of marketing. The qualification will be awarded to a learner who has provided evidence to the satisfaction of the assessors that the stated competence of the qualification, as detailed in the specified outcomes, has been achieved, either through education and training in a single provider's learning programme, or through experience that complies with the stated specified outcomes. This qualification articulate vertically into the Doctor of Commerce in Marketing. |

| INTERNATIONAL COMPARABILITY |
| The qualification was designed following a comprehensive benchmarking process with related national and international qualifications. It was also reviewed by a panel of experts comprising industry experts, national and international Professors in the marketing field. The continuous benchmarking process shall also involve presentations of completed thesis at local and international colloquiums and conferences. |
