Registered-data under construction

The qualification content is currently being updated for the qualifications with the status “Registered-data under construction” or showing “DETAILS UNDER CONSTRUCTION” to ensure compliance with SAQA’S Policy and Criteria for the registration of qualifications and part-qualifications on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) (As amended, 2022). These qualifications are re-registered until 30 June 2027 and can legitimately be offered by the institutions to which they are registered.

 

In all of the tables in this document, both the pre-2009 NQF Level and the NQF Level is shown. In the text (purpose statements, qualification rules, etc), any references to NQF Levels are to the pre-2009 levels unless specifically stated otherwise.  

PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
Purpose:
Apply educational knowledge, skills, principles and methods to integrate different management disciplines and to have a holistic view on middle and senior management levels within the private and public sector.

  • In life-long learning and the appreciation of the value of education and society.

    Qualifying learners will demonstrate knowledge, skills and applied competence in the field of study. The qualification will provide opportunities for continued personal growth, gainful economic activity and rewarding contributions to society. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
    The institution conducts RPL in terms of the policy and guidelines of the institution to recognise other forms of formal, informal and non-formal learning and experience.In cases where learners do not comply with the formal admission requirements, the institution applies its RPL policy.

    Entry Requirements:
    The minimum entry requirement for this qualification is:

    The following Associated Assessment Criteria is presented in an integrated manner across all Exit Level Outcomes:

  • Solve management problems according to managerial principles.
  • Analyse and present management techniques of their organisation presented and analysed.
  • Present Interviewing strategies in solving organisational problems.

    Integrated Assessment:
    Competence is achieved, through continuous assessment by demonstrating the ability to achieve the outcome of the qualification:
  • Written individual assignments.
  • Written group assignments, employing assignments and class discussions.
  • Practical projects, employing assignments and class discussions.
  • The interpretation of relevant case studies and portfolios.
  • Standardised marking and feedback on assignments and projects.
  • Open book examinations.

    This qualification compares with similar international qualifications in terms of the range of competencies in the learning content offered. 

    ARTICULATION OPTIONS 
    This qualification allows for both horizontal and vertical articulation.
