The qualification content is currently being updated for the qualifications with the status “Registered-data under construction” or showing “DETAILS UNDER CONSTRUCTION” to ensure compliance with SAQA’S Policy and Criteria for the registration of qualifications and part-qualifications on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) (As amended, 2022). PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
The Bachelor of Administration (B. Admin) Honours is a Postgraduate Degree which will:
  • Provide qualifiers with problem-solving skills to promote management, governance and policy-making which is accountable, ethical, equitable and sustainable.
  • Provide South Africa with significant numbers of Honours graduates in management and governance in order to ensure that the local leadership base of innovative and knowledge-based economic and scholarly activity is widened. 

  • LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
    Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
    The structure of this qualification makes the Recognition of Prior Learning possible. This qualification may therefore be accessed and/or be achieved in part through the Recognition of Prior Learning, which includes formal learning and work experience.

  • A Bachelor's Degree, Level 7 in an Economic and Management Sciences discipline or a related discipline.

  • An Advanced Diploma, Level 7 in an Economic and Management Sciences discipline.

  • Political public sector problems are solved in a systematic and creative way through problem identification and analysis.
  • Political resources and processes in a public context is managed demonstrating sound understanding.
  • Own ideas and interests are articulated and promoted via effective oral and written communications.
  • The contribution to government by sound policy developing competencies are demonstrated by producing sample policies.

    Integrated Assessment:
  • The Faculty has adopted a Continuous Assessment System.
  • Assessment consists of a number of assessment events administered throughout the year and a variety of assessment instruments are used (for example: tests, essays and practical reports, project reports).
