PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
The qualifying learner can conduct independent research based on an understanding and application of existing knowledge, under guidance and contribute to knowledge production in the field of podiatric medicine. The research problem, its justification, process and outcome is reported in a dissertation which displays an appreciation of the relationship of the special theme to the wider field of podiatric knowledge and is worthy in part of publication.
