PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
Purpose:
The purpose of this qualification is to enable learners to Support and implement procedures and systems, promote best Human Resource Management (HRM) practices in the organisation, identify skills requirements (workforce planning) of the organisation, Acquire an understanding of people dynamics and its impact in the workplace and on productivity and to ensure compliance with Human Resource legislation and trends. Rationale: This qualification is designed to address the scarce and critical skills in the country. Learning and development which forms an integral part of this qualification and Human Resource Management (HRM) are cited as third and fifth critical skills of fifteen critical and scarce skills in the country. This qualification has been developed to align the Human Resource Management qualifications according to the requirements of the Higher Education Qualifications Sub-Framework. This qualification replaces the Bachelor of Technology Human Resource Management at NQF Level 7. The qualification provides an articulation route to higher qualifications for learners who complete a Diploma in Human Resource Management at NQF Level 6. Furthermore, it is designed to allow qualifying learners an opportunity to acquire applied competence in the field of Human Resource Management required for registration with the professional body South African Board for People Practices (SABPP). And to empower learners with core Human Resource Management skills in line with best practices and quality standards. |
