| At the completion of the programme, the learner should be able to:
1. Demonstrate possession of depth of knowledge in a specialised field/area. 2. Show improved ability to synthesise and critically evaluate knowledge and provide alternative responses/solutions to problems. 3. Demonstrate capacity to conduct research at an advanced level. 4. Demonstrate ability to objectively assess and report on own and other people's work. 5. Debate, communicate and present logical arguments as well as demonstrate leadership in professional and other relationships. 6. Produce a research report that shows evidence of original work and constitutes a contribution to the knowledge of and insight into the subject. |
| ASSOCIATED ASSESSMENT CRITERIA |
| Integrated assessment
Oral and written presentations, organising and executing a plan of the various steps in the research process, writing and submitting a neatly bound research report (the thesis). |
| ARTICULATION OPTIONS |
| Graduates from the programme can find employment in government and non-governmental organisations. They can also pursue further research and publish their findings for the benefit of society. Private practice is another option. |
| MODERATION OPTIONS |
| The promoter is the first examiner and at leat two external examiners with expertise in the field under study are appointed. |

| A doctoral degree as well as experience in practice, teaching and research. |
