PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
A qualified learner is able to manage, design, select and apply a range of management interventions at any organisational level in organisational in commerce and industry to optimise productivity and to enhance quality of work life. A typical role could be that of a manager of a Management Consult Division.

    Integrated assessment:

    1. Formative assessment. Assessment is conducted in a modular framework and directed at evaluating the knowledge, skills and mental disposition as derived from the general job description of, and assumed to be required by a Management Services Consultant. Assessment spans the following on an on-going basis throughout the programme:

    Practical in-class theoretical testing, and demonstration of problem solving based on deliberate case data within predetermined time limits will indicate the learners mastery of, and ability to integrate the knowledge and skills relative to a particular area of expertise.

    Summative assessment.

    Open ended written replies to deliberate questions will indicate the learners' grasp of the relevant theory. Case studies and practical work that integrate the assembled outcomes, supplement class instruction and promotes internalisation of knowledge and skills on an individual basis. 

  • ARTICULATION OPTIONS 
    Learners could migrate to M Tech: Management Practise, MBA and other NQF Level 8 programmes. 

    MODERATION OPTIONS 
    SERTEC and SAIMAS (South Africa Institute of Management Services) supervise moderation of learning programmes and outcomes. 

    CRITERIA FOR THE REGISTRATION OF ASSESSORS 
    The Technikon complies with SERTEC. 

    NOTES 
    While South Africa still had Technikons, all of their qualifications were registered under the Committee of Technikon Principals. After the Technikons became Universities of Technology or merged with Universities, the qualifications were registered under each of these institutions, and the CTP qualifications fell away (hence the end date of 2006, above). Where relevant, replacement information is
    shown in the table above.
