PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION

The purpose of this qualification is to provide the qualifying learner with advanced levels of training necessary for applied management and / or applied research within the Forestry industry and related fields.

Upon entry to the M.Tech programme, it is assumed that learners should have demonstrated the ability to: S apply advanced appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities to more efficiently manage technical and managerial aspects of a business within the forest industry, S apply the appropriate knowledge, skills and abilities to undertake entry level research projects within the forest industry. through the successful completion of a: S B.Tech degree in forestry or equivalent (480 credits), S evidence of practical experience and professional development in the forest industry.

Specified Outcomes: Demonstrate knowledge, skills and values in researching a related field in forestry.
