| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| Purpose: Graduates of this qualification must be able to deal with complex issues both systematically and creatively, make sound judgments using data and information at their disposal, and communicate their conclusions clearly to specialists and non-specialists audiences; demonstrates self-direction and originality in tackling and solving problems; act autonomously in planning and implementing tasks at a professional level and continue to advance their knowledge, understanding and skills. | Assessment commences with the approval of the research topic by the departmental research committee; presentation of the research proposal to the departmental research committee as well Faculty Postgraduate Research Committee; approval of proposal by the Faculty Postgraduate Research and Ethics committee; presentation of research project to the Faculty Postgraduate Research Committee followed by submission of a completed research project on the recommendation of the supervisor. |
