Recognition of Prior Learning:
Recognition of prior learning in the case of learners not complying with the formal entry requirements will be conducted in accordance with the policy and guidelines of the Institution concerning the recognition of other forms of formal, informal and non-formal learning and experience. Recognition takes place only where prior learning corresponds to the required NQF-level, and in terms of applied competencies relevant to the content and outcomes of the qualification. 1. Demonstrate their competence at applying the theoretical principles of problem identification and solving in the field of Information Management correctly and reflect on the application made on the process of problem solving (problem solving skills).

Plan and execute research in Information Management, by gathering, analysing, synthesising and interpreting the relevant information correctly and reflecting on research undertaken (research skills). 3. Demonstrate effective communication competence with the different role players in the Information Management field and applying the theoretical principles of communication (oral/written) and reflect on the application made (communication skills). 4. 1. Do the learners demonstrate their ability to identify and solve problems in the field of Information Management correctly by applying the relevant theoretical principles and reflect on the application made according to standards (problem solving skills?)

Are the learners able to plan and exercise research in the field of Information Management according to standards, including the gathering, analysing, synthesising and interpretation of information on marketing management issues correctly by utilising the relevant theoretical research principles and reflect on the research undertaken? Can the learners communicate according to standards effectively, orally and in writing with the different role players in the field of Information Management by applying the theoretical principles of communication and reflect on the application made? Have the learners developed a theoretical and practical macrovision of Information Management nationally and internationally according to standards (development of macrovision) 5. (employment seeking skills). Integrated Assessment: Formative assessment practices that will be implemented. Learners are continuously assessed e.g. via practical group and class assignments, essays, presentations, informal class tests, and formal modular tests in a written mode. They also do independent research that leads to scientific assignments. In addition, learners will assess themselves as well as the work of each other and reflect on the dynamics of this process. Summative assessment practices that will be implemented. Integrated assessment, focusing on the achievement of the exit-level outcomes, will be done by means of a written two or three hour examination, one per module toward the end of the module (semester). Pass requirements that will be implemented. Learners have to obtain at least 40% in the formative assessment practices in order to gain entrance to the summative assessment. Learners pass a module if they attain at least 40% in the summative assessment and a final mark of at least 50%. The final mark is calculated by combing the formative and summative marks in a 50:50 ratio. |
