Purpose of programme: Purpose of qualification: (As submitted for interim registration with SAQA in June 2000.): > To provide candidates in the private, public and voluntary sectors with advanced core knowledge and research skills relevant to the technical aspects of Economics and its applied branches in order to promote sustainable growth and development and maximise prosperity in all sectors of the economy and society. > To develop competent leaders in the private, public and voluntary sectors with applied fundamental and cross-functional technical knowledge and skills to steer sustainable development, growth and prosperity in the most appropriate direction. > To provide students who want to enrol for more specialised studies in Economics with a sound academic base from which to do so. Students who receive a Honours in Bachelor of Commece are equipped for a career in the field of management and commerce and to act as managers in both the private and public sectors, where their participation promotes development to the benefit of the whole society. |
