PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
A learner who has completed this qualification will have the competence to apply advanced techniques in the design and support of computerised systems. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

The qualification will be awarded to a learner who has provided evidence to the satisfaction of the assessors that the stated competence of the qualification, as detailed in the specified outcomes, has been achieved, either through education and training in a single provider's learning programme, or through experience that complies with the stated specified outcomes. 

EXIT LEVEL OUTCOMES 
The qualifying learner will have the ability to:

1. Develop, administer and implement advanced database and software systems.

2. Design, develop and implement advanced hardware systems and interfaces.

3. Implement and control advanced network topologies.

4. Understand, describe and implement specialised theoretical principles supporting the computing environment.

5. Solve industry related problems by developing new systems or systems interfacing with existing systems.

The qualifying learner will have the competence to:

1. Utilise advanced database development and administration tools and techniques.
  • Implement new software technologies in the development of advanced software systems.

    2. Master the techniques for the design and implementation of advanced hardware systems and interfaces.
  • Master the more advanced techniques applicable to the control of industrial processes.

    3. Master advanced network principles.
  • Master the advanced principles of differential calculus, integral calculus and statistical probability.
  • Understand and utilise the management principles applicable to the computing environment.

    5. Apply knowledge of hardware, networks or software to develop new systems or interface with existing systems in order to solve industry related problems.

    3. The advanced principles of networking is described and demonstrated.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the advanced concepts of networking.

    5. Complete an industry related project of sufficiently advanced level and represent the project in the correct format.
