PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
A learner that has completed this qualification is competent in doing effective research in the computing environment. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
Descriptive entry level:

Competent in implementing strategies and techniques in a technical environment in order to apply effective research methodologies.

Qualification entry level:

NQF level 7 with 480 credits, in the form of the B Tech. Engineering: Computer Systems or equivalent.

The qualification will be awarded to a learner who has provided evidence to the satisfaction of the assessors that the stated competence of the qualification, as detailed in the specified outcomes, has been achieved, either through education and training in a single provider's learning programme, or through experience that complied with the stated specified outcomes.
