PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
A high level Language Practitioner competent in the theory and praxis of language and communication necessary for the effective functioning of the national industry and economy, the education and training of the country's workforce, and generally for the upliftment and development of all sections of society. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
At least 390 credits in a relevant applied language field, of which at least 15 must be at NQF-level 4, 245 at level 5 and 130 at level 6;
OR
First Degree in Language Practice

QUALIFICATION RULES 
The qualification will be awarded to a learner who has provided evidence to the satisfaction of the assessors that the stated competence of the qualification, as detailed in the specified outcomes, has been achieved, either through education and training in a single provider's learning programme, or through experience that complies with the stated specified outcomes.
