PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
The purpose of this qualification is to supply the ecotourism industry with competent ecotourism entrepreneurs who can manage advanced ecotorism programs and an ecotourism business. The qualifying learner will also be competent to identify and develop entrepreneurial opportunities and conduct basic research in the field of ecotourism. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
First degree in Ecotourism Management or relevant equivalent qualification of at least 360 credits at NQF level 6.

The qualification will be awarded to a learner who has provided evidence to the satisfaction of the assessors that the stated competence of the qualification, as detailed in the specified outcomes, has been achieved, either through education and training in a single provider's learning programme, or through experience that complies with the stated specified outcomes.

    Two internal moderators and one external moderater must moderate exit level examinations and final integrated portfolio assessment.
