PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
The qualifying learner will have the capability to apply critical analysis, knowledge and understanding of visual and tactile dance forms and demonstrate advanced proficiency in the chosen specialisation within the dance profession. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
NQF Level 6 or equivalent qualification. Learners should have the necessary talent, creativity, musicality, physical and emotional make-up for further training as a dance practitioner.

Recognition of prior learning:
The qualification will be awarded to a learner who has provided evidence that the stated competence of the qualification has been achieved through experience that complies with the stated specified outcomes

EXIT LEVEL OUTCOMES 
Display an integrated technical and physical proficiency in a wide range of dance pursuits.

Display and employ affective, cognitive and creative elements in creating, producing and teaching of dance. 3. Undertake specialised research.

Specified outcomes:

Produce, create and/or perform works of high conceptual content to an appropriate professional and technical standard. Apply the knowledge, principles and concepts of dance in order to function, and play a role as a professional dance practitioner (C & E) (50 credits) (NQF 7).

Apply entrepreneurial and management skills in order to function as a professional dance practitioner? (15 credits) (NQF 7).

Relate the appropriate professional and technical standard to the chosen dance practice ? (20 credits) (NQF 7).

Conduct formal and stylistic analysis of dance works? (15 credits) (NQF 7).

Display an advanced understanding of the effects that historical, socio-political and cultural forces have had on contemporary dance? (20 credits) (NQF 7).

Critical outcomes:
