PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
A qualifying learner will be able to design, develop and implement business information systems and to manage teams towards these ends. Therefore, apart from being able to demonstrate relevant technological know-how and competence, such a person will be able to demonstrate competence in management of teams that create or modify business information systems. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
At least an NQF 6 qualification in any field with 4 years work experience or an NQF 7 qualification in any field with 3 years of work experience. Prior training or experience in the Information Technology field is therefore not required.
