PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
The purpose of this qualification is to supply the adventure tourism industry with competent entrepreneurs who can manage advanced outdoor programmes and an adventure tourism business. The qualifying learner will also be competent to identify and develop entrepreneurial opportunities and conduct basic research in the field of adventure tourism. 

LEARNING ASSUMED TO BE IN PLACE AND RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING 
First degree in Adventure Tourism or relevant equivalent qualification of at least 360 credits at NQF level 6.

    Articulation possibilities exist with other Technikons offering this qualification. Limited articulation possibilities also exist with private institutions and industry training. This qualification forms the foundation for the Master's degree in Adventure Tourism. 

    MODERATION OPTIONS 
    Two internal moderators and one external moderator must moderate final integrated portfolio assessment.
