A postgraduate qualification to provide qualifiers with graduate-level knowledge in:

1. Econometrics and statistical analysis and policy application.
2. A sound theoretical base and understanding of various sub-disciplines of economics.
3. Provide South Africa with theoretically specialised postgraduates with sound economic analytical skills and ability.
