A candidate at this level has the competence to explore, develop and apply new technology and knowledge in a specialised field of drama.

The qualification will be awarded to a learner who has provided evidence to the satisfaction of the assessors that the stated competence of the qualification, as detailed in the specified outcomes, has been achieved, either through education and training in a single provider's learning programme, or through experience that complies with the stated specified outcomes 

EXIT LEVEL OUTCOMES 
1. A candidate at this level has the ability to:-
  • Explore, develop and apply new research methodology, new technology and new acquired knowledge
  • Formulate individual insights and expertise
  • Influence new structures and policies. These outcomes are applicable to the field of Drama in its entire spectrum.

    Specified outcomes:

    1. A candidate at this highly evolved postgraduate level has the competence to design and execute:
  • An advanced and original research project which incorporates a mandatory practical application component, comprising at least 30% but not exceeding 50% of the total project.
  • A thesis comprising a minimum of 50% and a maximum of 70% of the project.
  • Total credits for both components: (C) (240 credits) (NQF 8).

    Critical outcomes:

    The course structure addresses the critical outcomes as specified by SAQA.
