PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
To educate and to train a person to equip him/her with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes in the field of community oral health research, management and administration of oral health services, the promotion of oral health, the prevention of oral diseases in order to enable him/her to plan, implement and to evaluate oral health systems that are acceptable and affordable for the country thereby reducing oral diseases.

To obtain registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a specialist in the field of Community Oral Health.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL):
