| PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION |
| The M degree in Dietetics is a research degree. Graduates will have well-developed skills to initiate research and be able to write a research protocol in the field of dietetics. The qualification aims for a candidate to demonstrate craftsmanship and to do research under supervision. Graduates will successfully complete a dissertation on the relevant research and will maintain lifelong learning ensuring continuing self-development and development of the field. |

First degree: B/B Sc Dietetics/Human Nutrition (non- integrated course) Honours degree: B/B Sc Hons Dietetics/Human Nutrition Other: B/B Sc Dietetics/Human Nutrition + Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics Candidates who have been admitted to study for the M Dietetics by virtue of any of the above mentioned academic routes must successfully complete an acceptable course in Applied Research Methodology. Supplementary prescribed work and attendance of certain courses, with a pass mark in a test or examination in these courses may be required of all candidates who apply for admission. A student may also be required to pass a proficiency test in English (TOEFL), at an acceptable level. |
