PURPOSE AND RATIONALE OF THE QUALIFICATION 
The first purpose of the qualification is to provide qualifiers with graduate level knowledge on the working of the South African economic and financial systems and basic econometric models.

The second purpose of the qualification is to provide South Africa with a number of specialised graduates that are able to do a prognosis, analysis and forecast of the South African economy.

The third purpose of the qualification is to provide qualifiers with graduate knowledge on the practical skills of using economic and econometric models that can be used by management or for policy application by government.

Entry Requirements:
The minimum entry requirement for this qualification is:
  • National Senior Certificate, NQF Level 4, granting access to Bachelor's studies.
    Or
  • Senior Certificate, NQF Level 4 with endorsement.
    Or
  • Diploma in Business Administration, NQF Level 6.
