The graduate must be able to:
1. Plan and execute under supervision an original research project that demonstrates the ability of the graduate to apply their knowledge of genetics and its associated technology in addressing specific questions. The ability to analyse and critically assess data must be demonstrated
2. Carry out, and report on, comprehensive literature studies relating to their field of research specialisation
3. Write research reports in both a format that is acceptable for submission as a dissertation and in the format of a publication and present the research results within a scientific forum
